Matt Grady
Passionate enthusiast in almost everything he participates in, Matt joins Grand Classroom and our sales team with 13 years of experience. While in school and bartending at the MCI arena Matt decided to enter the world of sales accepting his first job at US Legal in Washington DC. After years of hard work Matt was promoted and became the sales and operations manager for the east coast region but his life was missing something. Wanting a change of pace from the 90 hour work weeks, Matt left US Legal and moved back home to start a family and accepted a position with Real Estate III here in Charlottesville, in 2002. It’s during his time at RE3 that he met “Those Guys” that would eventually lead him to Grand Classroom. Growing up in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Matt found himself spending most of his time outdoors camping, hiking, fishing, hunting and fiddling with nature which is evident in his knowledge of the local landscape and any creatures you might encounter. Exploring the globe is a constant passion and some of his recent favourite stops include Havasupai, Jackson Hole, Hawaii, the Bahamas and Aruba to name a few. Matt’s optimism, energy and care free spirit can only be matched by a 5 year old and is contagious to everyone around him. Outside of work, Matt spends his spare time outdoors doing something physically stimulating with his pals or more often than not trying to keep up with his two beautiful daughters; Emma Leigh and Lauren Elizabeth who are actively involved in soccer, swimming on the Forest Lakes swim team, theatre through Black Box Entertainment and Ash Lawn Opera, gymnastics, voice and music lessons and yes of course the normal kid stuff like sleepovers and birthday parties. To Matt, life is Grand and for him seeing any kid smile and knowing he played a part in it….well, it makes his now 100 hour work weeks all worth while. He’s passionate, fun, warm, nurturing and unforgettable so if you’re lucky enough to tour with Matt….be ready to have a good time.
